1. Basic introduction
Lightning Motorcycles is a small electric motorcycle manufacturer based in San Carlos, California. After nearly 8 years of research and development, the world's fastest mass-produced electric motorcycle - the 2015 Lightning LS-218 was finally launched. The first prototype was sold to Mr. Troy Helming, president of Pristine Sun, an American renewable energy company.The model achieved a speed of 218 miles, or 351 kilometers per hour, in the Bonneville salt flat experiment, which is the main reason for the name of the car after the LS-218. The power of electric vehicles lies in their constant torque, so the acceleration ability of Lightning LS-218 can be described as horror, and its maximum horsepower and maximum torque have reached terrifying figures of 200HP and 228 Nm.

1. Configuration
Lightning's LS-218 has powerful components throughout. These configurations come with Racetech, Ohlins NIX30, Ohlins TTX36 shock absorbers. Both shocks are fully adjustable. Braking consists of a pair of Brembo GP4-RX calipers and Brembo 320mm discs. Ohlins FGRT inverted front/TTX35 rear shock, Brembo brake system, Marchesini forged magnesium alloy wheels, etc. In addition, personal customization can be provided according to customer needs, such as Android system ECU, carbon fiber rocker arm and frame, titanium alloy firmware, custom spray map, and seat.
2. Charge
Other major issues with electric motorcycles are charging range and charging time. Lightning offers three battery pack options. The 12 kWh battery pack has a range of 161 to 193 km, the 15 kWh battery pack has a range of 193 to 241 km, and the new 20 kWh battery pack has a range of 257 to 290 km.
